Ashley Wagner is an internationally ranked figure skated who competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, The Figure Skating Grand Prix, and The United States Championship. This season Wagner got silver in the first Grand Prix competition and a gold at the second Grand Prix event then won Bronze in the final Grand Prix Competition. She however did not place at the U.S Championship but was still chosen to go to Sochi where she helped get the American figure skating team get a bronze medal in the team event. She did not place in the individual events in Sochi. Last year Mao Asada from Japan won gold at the Grand Prix. In figure Skating men are not allowed to wear tights. they must wear trousers. Also skaters can attempt two types of triple jumps in one free skate routine and there can be no more than two axels attempted in a routine. In figure skating a flying spin is a turn that is initiated by a jump, a combination spin is a turn where the skater changes positions during the spin, and a feature is anything added to a routine that is not required but added to increase base score. a cliche about figure skating is dancing on ice and another way you could say this is a combination of graceful movements done while skating on ice. Michelle Kwan is a figure skating legend who was born in Torrance,California on July, 7 1980. Kwan attended the University of California in Los Angeles and competed for the U.S in multiple Olympic games. "Michelle Kwan has won nine U.S. championships, five world championships, and two Olympic medals."
